The greatest player in Franchise history has made his retirement official. He was having a monster season in 1994 when he broke his wrist 2 days before the strike ended the season. When they built Minute Maid he was supposed to set all kinds of records, but a torn labrum and arthritis cut back on his production and ultimately cut his career short. Even so, he rates in the top 50 players all time in 7 major batting categores. Thanks Baggy for allowing us to witness a truly great career. Next stop, Cooperstown. |
