Tomas Vokoun to Florida

The Nashville Predators have traded Tomas Vokoun to the Florida Panthers for the Panthers first round pick and two second round selections.

Holy crap. I though if any goalie from the Preds would go it would be Mason. It looks like after 3 good seasons the Pred's are already starting to lose alot of good players (Forsberg, Timonen, Hartnell, Kariya, Vokoun). Mason is a good goalie though so Vokoun is not to big of a loss and Florida needed a goalie. Another win-win trade like the Sharks-Leafs trade, IMO. BTW, if anyone is wondering that second of the two second round picks Florida got from Detroit in the Bertuzzi trade.

Are you sure about that with the Bertuzzi pick? Tampa Bay just sent a conditional 2nd rounder to Florida for Chris Gratton...

until the numbers are released on the picks, it'll be impossible to tell. So a big "Stay tuned" on this.

The Miami Herald is now reporting this:

1st round pick in 08
2nd round pick in 07
2nd round pick in 07 or 08

Next years draft is supposed to blow this years draft out of the water in terms of overall talent. Still a good deal for both teams (Mason put up better numbers this year then Vokoun).
