Tampa Bay Lightning have placed forwards Dmitry Afanasenkov and Andreas Karlsson on waivers today in a move to clear up some salary cap space.

By freeing up around $1.2 million in salary general manager Jay Feaster may be looking to pull the trigger on a possible deal to help his inconsistent team.
