Sharks to eventually deal goalie?
http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/sjs061219.html Although San Jose Sharks GM Doug Wilson is playing coy, he is expected to trade one of the team's goaltenders prior to the trade deadline, reports the Denver Post. According to the Post, the Sharks are expected to deal one of Evgeni Nabokov or Vesa Toskala and install the other as the club's set No. 1 down the stretch. Nabokov, 31, and Toskala, 29, have split the goaltending duties this season, leading the team to a 24-10-0 record. It's been widely reported this season that the Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins are interested in acquiring one of the two goalies. Nabokov, who has a 10-6 record with a 2.03 goals-against-average and a .927 save-percentage, makes $5 million this season, while Toskala (14-4, with a 2.15 GAA and a .922 sv%) makes only $1.375 million. It's unknown when the Sharks will pull the trigger on a deal, if they do so at all, however it's believed the club is seeking a top defenseman. |

If I were a betting man, I think they will deal Nabokov and hold onto Toskala. Not only is Nabokov a bigger salary cap hit, he is older and more injury prone.
Not quite sure which teams will be in the running, but it should be a fun trade deadline in February! |

The Flyers defenseman is Pitkanen, and there is no way they would deal him for 1 of those goalies. Zhitnik, Picard, Randy Jones, Hatcher, Jonsson. None of those guys would be enough for either 1 of them goaltenders.
