Default Montreal interested in Eric Lindros

Rumors have surfaced that the Habs might be interested in injury-plagued Eric Lindros. Neither sides have commented on this yet.

I find it interesting to say the least that they want to get a guy who would not want to play for Quebec city.

Good point, Baltek. Oh how the mighty have fallen, eh? I haven't seen this on the wires yet -- you got a source?

I think most of the NHL stands that way right now, HabsRule. Eric has trashed his career with thanks to his parents running things.

He has been the most over rated player I have ever seen. I am amazed Florida hasn't tried to sign him.

Hahaha. There are still teams out there stupid enough to sign Lindros?

Do it, pull the trigger.

Default Lindros to announce retirement Thursday

Lindros to announce retirement Thursday
Quote:
Sources confirm Eric Lindros will officially announce his retirement from the National Hockey League on Thursday.
Lindros will make the announcement in conjunction with an event paying tribute to Dr. Peter Fowler, co-founder of the Fowler-Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic in London, Ontario.
Dr. Fowler, referred to as "Mr. Sport Medicine" around the world has treated Lindros through most of his playing days for a variety of injuries, including his knee, groin and shoulder.
The 34 year old former first pick overall ends a playing career that spans 13 seasons and includes a Hart Trophy in 1995 and two All-Star Team selections.
Lindros, who has been very active in the rebuild of the NHLPA is expected to assume the newly created role of ombudsman, a position that requires approval from the Associations 30 player representatives.

A conference call to discuss new business is expected to take place within the next 10 days and presumably the appointment of the unions first ombudsman will be part of the agenda.
