A city that is growing tremendously in population, and land-wise is one of the largest cities in the state....the people here have been die hards for the local semi-pro Hockey team and the Twins A affiliate the Miracle. The support this area puts towards a team is unbelievable for the types of teams that are here. They would get a lot more support here where there is less to do than on the East coast. And I could go the games every day.

Sounds good to me...The attendance at the Marlins games have been horrible for the past few years, unless they are winning....lol
To me you can't have a situation where you only support a winning team....it makes the franchise and city look foolish. A move would look good for the Marlins, but do they have a stadium ready for them yet in Cape Coral?

No they don't, but I bet it would pass very quickly. There are a lot of young families here with a lot of money and nothing to do. The area would explode around the ballpark, especially since they are a pretty darn good young team.
The area can certainly fit a stadium as there have been rumors for years of a Six Flags coming to the NW Cape...I wonder if they would be too worried about putting another franchise this close to the Devil Rays who already don't draw any fans. I went to the Marlins game last week and watched half of the 10,000 people that came through the gate LEAVE after the 4TH INNING(!!!!!!!!!) of a 3-0 game. Absurd.
