I just saw Ellen Page on a you tube clip from her appearance on Letterman last week. She's very much like her character in that she's witty and sarcastic. Check it out. |

This is a terrific movie, great cast...and Ellen Page is wonderful in this role.
Having adopted from a 16 yr old girl, my wife and I found this movie especially moving as well. There are small little bits of this movie that are so...true...so emotionally accurate. We were probably the only ones crying at times |

This is one of those cases where hype affected the way I reacted to a movie. If I hadn't heard and read about this movie, I would have enjoyed it more.
I thought the characters were took clever by half, too hip by double and too cliche by far too much. I found only one moment (when Juno tells Bleeker that he's cool without trying, and his response) to really well-scripted and acted ... which made it stand out from the stereotypes. I'm a fan of JK Simmons, yet found him painful in this role ... especially in the scene where he and Juno meet the adoptive parents for the first time. Ellen Page was channeling Jeneane Garrofolo. Individual moments were decent, some of the dialogue was witty, but it didn't add up to a movie I'd want to see again. The soundtrack, however, was terrific. |

Saw it on DVD a few weeks ago. it had it's moments and it was a great way to drop out for a while...
Michael Cera is getting typecast as the awkward teen wherever he goes. He might play it well but look what happesn when those typecast teens grow up... Have you seen much of Jason Biggs lately? This movie stayed inside my comfort zone -- I think that is why I like it. I mean, I hated "Knocked up" compared to "The 40 year Old Virgin" (Both Judd Aptow flicks with Seth Rogen) because there was no comfort zone. I hated "The Whole Ten Yards" as compared to "The Whole Nine Yards" because it tried too heard to be funny and was irrelevant. "Nine" wasn't that great a comedy but it wasn't over the top either.

Well, I can't analyze it as well as some....but as someone who avoids most modern films due to their utter lack of originality or intelligence, I found it both humorous & moving. It was great to see JK Simmons in a nice-guy role for once, too.

JK stole that movie for me... He didn't have to do much and it wasn't like the grandfather role from "Little Miss Sunshine" but he was warm and integral

Oh, he had another one, ehh? I still couldn't shake his Hank Schillinger typecast everytime he was on-screen

Oh, Nat, that reference to Little Miss Sunshine didn't involve JK. It was comparing the characters. I forgot who played the grandfather in that movie but he was a SDecond City alumni and starred in "Catch 22"?
