H2H League w/ modified points (weekly) scoring (same League I have mentioned before).
You have the following players available for 4 starting spots: Chone Figgins (OF) Nick Markakis (OF) Alfonso Soriano (OF) David DeJesus (OF) Adrian Gonzalez (UT) Thus far this season, I have used the fairly consistent, but BA-dependent, DeJesus as a fill-in for whenever Soriano, Figgins or Gonzalez has been in one of their prolonged slumps. Now that Gonzalez is pumping again, my instinct is to leave DeJesus as odd man out. Before you ask, Cano is currently tearing it up at 2B, so no Figgins there, and Gonzalez does not rate enough to start ahead of D. Lee at 1B. So, who is your odd man out? (This is starting to sound like a cheesy new evening game show) |

The point is to win and the more points you score the better your chance of you winning. So it simply come down to starting the hot players and seatting the cold ones and keeping an eye open to hot players cooling off and cold players highting up.

No offense intended, but "Duh."
Gonzalez is now starting, precisely because he is on a hot streak again. DeJesus, for example, has been fairly consistent all season, with just a few down spots. The point I was trying to make was weighing his relative consistency but lower overall potential vs. Gonzalez higher ceiling but possibly streaky nature. |
