Which is sweet for me since he is in my division. The Division goes as follows (we have only played division opponents so far, this week begins our interdivisional play. After this we play our own division two more times through...these next 5 weeks could really spread out the division. Especially important since the last 1/2 of the season is going to be so difficult as everyone stands something to gain from every matchup being played then....anyway onto this weeks matchup for me... I need to take advantage and improve to 5 and 1. Thrown4ACurve for the year is 342.7 Points behind me. I average 315.96 per week, he averages 247.44 per week. He is 1-4 and in second last place in the other division. I'm pretty excited about this week...especially since today is my birthday, I feel like this could be a scheduled birthday gift, but I'm a little nervous at the beginning of the week, these are usually when the opponent tops out and scores like 400 points, while my team tanks and scores 200. We'll be even up 5 for 5 SP after today, so I'm hoping to jump out to a huge lead today...I only have 2 hitters with the day off as well, maybe I can get a Penny W and Saito Save all in one, he only has LoDuca, Burrell, Lee, and Giambi going today.

Well I currently have a 21 point lead. My opponent has Johan Santana tomorrow and then he is all out of starts. I have Cole Hamels tomorrow, Brad Penny and Chuck James on Saturday. Being that I already have a lead, Santan would have to get around 50 points and all of my 3 would have to score 5 or less. On top of that I am also out-hitting him, so it would be very tough for me to lose this week at this point. It also looks like Gary Pounders (the team tied for 1st with me) is going to lose...so I will regain sole possesion of first place at 5-1.

I would love to help you redtitan, but as I replied in your other thread, we need to know more about your league and your roster to do so.
I ended up trading Vazquez for Josh Hamilton, which has worked out pretty well for me so far. Anibal Sanchez was recently dropped and I am wondering if anyone thinks he would be worth picking up.

He'll be back up, but it may take a while. I dropped him in at least one League b/c I needed the space, and he wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire this season. IF you have a spot to waste while he's in the minors, I'd say "Sure."

I also dropped OF Coco Crisp for SP Jorge Sosa.
SP is so much more valuable in this league, if these guys can give me good double starts, it's a big addition to my team, especially since Sosa so far has been lights with the Mets of all teams. I still have OF Josh Hamilton OF Hideki Matsui OF Josh Willingham OF David DeJesus OF Michael Cuddyer It looks as if SP Shawn Hill is headed for the DL. He had a freakin no hitter going when he came out with elbow soreness. Depending on how that goes I may drop him for Anibal Sanchez. We'll see.

Well I won and improved to 5-1. Unfortunately everyone in my division won their game this week. Pretty much a waste of a week as neither division changed any.

I hate having Penny, Sosa and Sheets on my bench, but the match-ups seem to favor me a little. Of my 11 Starts only 2 are against Aces type performers, and Wakefield is both of them so I feel okay with that. 2 of my guys go against each other, but 2 of his go against each other as well. We also have Paul Byrd vs. Matt Belisle next Sunday so that could determine the week. Milwaukee Maulers 1st Place 5-1 319.5 Points Per Week vs. Kernels 3rd Place 3-3 271.05 Points Per Week The lowest week I have had is 297.667. He has only broke 300 twice at 304 and 308. Knowing that, I feel a little better...but this is still going to be a big week for me. The other big matchup for me is.... Gary Pounders 5-1 Tied with me for 1st Place in Away Division 313.1 Per Week vs. The Phat Alberts 4-2 First Place Home Division 289.3 Per Week I could really use a Phat Alberts win to get sole possesion back. I'm still rather pissed about that loss I had....I can't feel comfortable at 5-1, what the heck is that???

Well my team had it's worst week of the year so far, but I love my chances to rebound as I look at this weeks matchup. First let's cover what the heck happened last week....
Milwaukee Maulers C MBarrett 9 1B PFielder 20 2B BUpton 24 3B DWright 17.5 SS HRamirez 15.5 OF MCuddyer 32 OF HMatsui 14.5 OF JWillingham 7 DH THafner 22 SP CHamels 33 SP THudson 2.33 SP BSheets 9.67 SP JSosa 19.33 SP TWakefield 18 RP TSaito 22 BENCH 2B IKinsler 12.5 OF DDeJesus 13 3B CTracy 0 OF JHamilton 0 SP CJames 1.33 SP BPenny 26 SP CVargas 6.67 SP DWillis 9.67 RP MBelisle 7 SP SHill 0 SP JJohnson 0 Phat Alberts C IRodriguez 11 1B APujols 26 2B DUggla 25 3B ARamirez 13 SS JHardy 7 OF NMarkakis 27 OF MRamirez 28 OF DYoung 16.5 DH JPeralta 16.5 SP JBlanton 3.67 SP JContreras 26.67 SP AHarang 15 SP JSuppan 18 SP JWashburn 46.67 RP AWainwright 36.67 BENCH 2B TWigginton 18.5 OF SVictorino 25 DH DLee 8.5 SP DBush -1.5 SP JMaine 24 SP MMorris 9 SP CSchilling 5 RP CVillanueva 7 RP JBorowski 38 OF MAlou 0 SP RNolasco 0 Milwaukee Maulers Hitters 161.7/180 Phat Alberts Hitters 170/180 Milwaukee Maulers Pitchers 104.33/120 Phat Alberts Pitchers 146.68/120 Milwaukee Maulers Bench 76.17 Phat Alberts Bench 134 Milwaukee Maukers TOTAL 265.83 Phat Alberts TOTAL 316.67 Gary Pounders also won this week and scored 348.33 points. So we are technically tied for first but he has the advantage being up on me by 84.8 points. It seems like just when I think I have a chance to pull away from him and the rest of the division I blow it with a loss. I do think my team is ready for a big week however. This week I am playing Karl who is in the other division...he is 3-5 after starting 3-1. He is averaging 293.75 points per week. My average is down to 312.41 after that rough week. I think this is a week where I will pick my average up, win and take the points lead back rather strongly. Milwaukee Maulers Lineup C MBarrett 6G 1B PFielder 7G 2B BUpton 6G SS HRamirez 7G 3B DWright 6G OF HMatsui 6G OF JWillingham 7G OF MCuddyer 6G DH THafner 7G SP CHamels 6/2 SF (Noah Lowry) SP CJames 5/28 @MIL (Chris Capuano) 6/2 @CHC (Rich Hill) SP BPenny 5/29 @WAS (Jason Simontacchi) 6/3 @PIT (Tom Gorzelanny) SP BSheets 5/29 ATL (John Smoltz) 6/3 FLA (Dontrelle Willis) SP DWillis 5/29 @CHC (Jason Marquis) 6/3 @MIL (Ben Sheets) RP MBelisle 5/29 @HOU (Jason Jennings) 6/3 @COL (Rodrigo Lopez) Karl Lineup C Russell Martin 6G 1B Richie Sexson 7G 2B Aaron Hill 7G SS Miguel Tejada 7G 3B Melvin Mora 7G OF Barry Bonds 6G OF Ken Griffey Jr. 7G OF Ichiro Suzuki 7G DH Frank Thomas 7G SP Josh Beckett 5/29 CLE (Jeremy Sowers) SP Chad Durbin 5/28 @TB (Edwin Jackson) SP Roy Halladay 5/31 CHW (Mark Buehrle) SP Roy Oswalt 6/2 STL (Kip Wells) SP Oliver Perez 5/29 SF (Tim Lincecum) 6/3 ARI (Doug Davis) RP Billy Wagner 6G I obviously have more pitching matchups but looking at it now I do like his chances a lot more because his matchups are more favorable. I don't mind that too much though because I like my pitchers and I believe they will do well regardless of who they are up against. If I can get up a couple points today when we are even in starts, and then get a huge lead tomorrow it should be over with some consistant performances...... Gary Pounders only has 6 pitching starts this week too so I should get back in the points lead. But he is playing the 1-7 team who is run by a clown who only has 5 pitching starts for the week....ugh.
