Standard yahoo league. 14 teams.
I give Alfonso Soriano I get Derek Lee + Fransico Rodriquez I have wicked hitting. Other OF are Sizemore, M.Ordonez and B.Giles I already have Teixiera and Delgado at 1B so I'll have to trade one. I only have one closer so I really need one more. Its not a perfect trade. But too hard to pass up???? Thanks |

Wow, sounds like you have a pretty good team bowls, espically batting wise!
While I agree with you that Soriano is better than Lee I also don't think you can pass this deal up. You would be getting Fransico Rodriguez, who I think is the top closer in all of baseball I think Lee will be back and playing healthy. Expect 30-40 homers. I would personally do the trade. Then just trade Delgado to a team for another outfielder maybe, as insurance. What player do you plan on cutting if you accept the deal?

Just curious
Who is your current closer now? By the way I think Sizemore will be having a great season, I drafted him on a few of my fantasy teams

Yeah, I definetly see your need for a closer....lol
So did you accept the trade? You have a great team, considering its a 14 team league in my opinion Who are your starting pitchers by the way?

hmmmm....That trade wouldn't be that bad too
You would be acquiring the top starting pitcher in the game, in Santana. You would also be upgrading Ray Durham, with Cano. Personally I'm not a huge fan of Swisher, and I think Hudson will have a 15 win season, that is if he's healthy... However, after looking at both trades, I think that I would do the first one. Your need for a closer is great, and F-Rod would be the man to have. But you may be able to add a solid closer off of free agency, that is if a team changes at the beginning of the season. Its obviously tougher to find a starting pitcher, espically of Santana's quality. Its a tough call like you said, but I'm leaning towards the first one and you trade either Delgado/Teixeria

I would do the second trade and I would try my luck with a young arm who may get an oppurtunity to close. Here are some options...
Talyor Tanksely (?) (Fla) Fernando Rodney (Det) Joel Zumuya (Det) Jorge Julio whos is going to get traded Takashi Saito (LAD) and then there always a few closers who come out of nowhere to have a career year. |

I would maybe past up on that....I know Carpenter is a great pitcher, but I think Harden will be having a great season. I think Schilling will have a solid season too, but may get injured....
That is a very diffucult trade I think, maybe someone else has some advice!

For Chris Carpenter you should deside that on if you think Schilling can stay heathty or not. |
