Brian McCann, Brayan Pena

McCann became one of the game's elite hitting catchers in his first full season; now he'll try to improve at throwing out runners. The pitchers are confident he'll call a good game. Pena will battle Iker Franco and Corky Miller.

Brad Ausmus, Eric Munson

Pitchers love Ausmus because of his vast knowledge of hitters and his willingness to let pitchers run their own games. Munson's power will help him as he competes with Humberto Quintero and Hector Gimenez.

3. Cardinals

Yadier Molina, Gary Bennett

Molina's defense is unsurpassed; now he needs to hit better. Bennett is popular with the pitchers but also isn't a source of much offense.

i don't think Ausmus' great D is not good enough to make him 2nd best with his pathetic O

It's more than his Brad's defense, it's his ability to handle pitchers. 2 years ago, Ausmus handled about half of Oswalts tarts while Quintero and Chaves handled the other starts. Oswalts ERA was a run lower with Ausmus catching. He was able to go longer in games with Ausmus with fewer pitches. Everyone talks about Minute Maid being a hitters park, but not when Ausmus is calling the game.

Yea, these rankings dont mean much in terms of fantasy

Although, Mccan is probably the # 2 overall catcher in fantasy, right behind / IF not # 1 ahead ahead of Joe Mauer
