I find the keeper rounds are not like other normal draft first rounds... QB's have a higher value because of their longer careers in the NFL, compared to RB's

Is there a 24 hour pick limit?

Right... so 645 is on the clock today until tomorrow morning.,... I am not gonna make it a midnight timecheck, because I will not be up to check it

Yeah, But there is no need for a timecheck. It's the guy with the next pick is who holds them to it.
By my understanding 24 hours is 24 hours and once it is up the next guy gets the right to go right ahead and make his pick. Sure I'm sure that everyone will wait a few hours to do so though in the name of fair play. |

Alright, 3 picks it's a good time for a review.
1.1) Steelerchic01 - Peyton Manning Starting off with a shocker here. Sure you can make the arguement of QB's with a longer careers but a good keeper is a player that is good enough to be drafted in the first 3 rounds and yes Manning is there right now but Manning has been up there for a good number of years now and will he still have great keeper value in 4 or 5 years when the new up and coming running back start to there end. Will he be any better then what Brett Favre is now then? That is a question to ask. There are younger QB's that may make Better Keepers that will not cost as much. Then it is a game that is based around Running Backs and there isn't going to be any great options around the 24th pick. It is going to be guessing game there. if he wanted a QB keeper He would be better off taking LT and going with Brees at the end of the secound round. 1.2) Hellwig - LaDainian Tomlinson LT the guy that should go first Hellwig is lucky to get him and it was a easy choce for him. 1.3) unreal654 - Larry Johnson Here was a choce of Larry Johnson who is viewed as the 2nd best running Back in the league or Steven Jackson who had 90 receptions last year and sence there are points for reception in the league settings may give an advantage over Johnson. Alright looking a little ahead. 1.4) DiamondDave There is no Question that he has to take Steven Jackson. 1.5) Sportycliche here is where it gets interesting. Does he take a more experence Shaun Alexander who is 30 years old and may not 1 or 2 years left or one of the less experence but younger back. And if he passes on Alexander does LaxD take him or pass knowing that RTT or SouthernPitbull could be getting a steel. |

I was hoping that LJ would fall...
But at the #4 pick... I have to worry about 2 things... longevity/time left at high level and need..... taking account of the scoring system, Jackson is a STRONG possibility.... but so is Brees.... I was looking at McNabb, but I don't think I could justify a 1.4 pick on him.... I'll make my decision soon

With Jackson's age and ability to get receptions... and with looking at our scoring system... I have to take him even if the OC that helped him get to the point he was at last season is gone.... I think the dropoff at RB gets large soon... and with having to start 2RB, compared to 1 QB made the decision to take SJ over Brees that much easier

I personally know that RTT is on vacation for a while. So he won't be able to pick for this keeper draft. I know someone that is respected by RTT, and is an active football poster on this site that can feel in for him. Prime Time is his name.

I don't want to screw him over... at all. since a keeper is a big deal... SO... if Prime Time could get a hold of him to ask, that would work... otherwise I would say wait..... but I think we should discuss it

Starting off, Jackson was the right decision for your stated reason as it made it the only resend.
Now I like to say I'm starting to love the idea of having the draft here on the Message Board for with time between the picks there is time to discuss each and every pick and how something said can change the whole draft board. Like in my last post I stated what I thought was of Sportycliche options was but that option of mine is already out of date becouse DiamondDave said he thought about Brees and McNabb and just like that he makes Brees an option that Sportycliche has to think about and if he passes then can LaxD or RTT pass on him with that already out there. So just like he changed everything just like I'm going to change everything again by saying if Brees and McNabb first round where does a Tom Brady go or a Carson Palmer? |

It all depends, because it gets tricky now.. the top RB's are gone... now it is the tier 2 RB's and the QB's under Peyton.... fantasy points sort of get jumbled together here, in terms of ranking.... the middle picks of round 1 are about team strategy, more than the top of round 1... and end of round 1 it is packaging bang for the buck in 2 picks in quick sucession
IMHO we see Brees and McNabb go soon.... Palmer will be a first rounder.... Brady probably a second... the QB becomes a pick of value shortly after that... people hedging bets on how long they can wait and still get the remaining QB of their choice
