Now theres a shocker Brian Westbrook.
Not a bad shocker but a shocker though. Yes Brian Westbrook is a tir 2 Running Back but one that ends up being worth a tir 1 in leagues like this one with points for receptions and it is a shocker for there are very few who would notice that and have the guts to draft him in the first round. I know I myself usely pass on him in first round and hope to get him in the 2nd round and I do most of the time. So I know I have 2 first round Running Backs. And I give credit to Sportycliche noticing that. |

I'm not really suprised he is a first rounder... just that he is top 5 picked.... I understand it with the 1/2 a point per reception though....

Top 5 last year or not, I'm surprised to see him go that early. Especially with some of the available talent...I like Westbrook, I just think there are others that are more valuable...one in particular being Carson Palmer who happened to be picked right after him....

Palmer has been the 20th best fantasy player the last 2 years.
Peyton is the only Qb that should be taken in the 1st round (and even then he was only the 34th best fantasy player in 2005..) Even Drew Brees big season last year put him at the 11th best fantasy player. Rbs should always be taken early, I bet I can get a QB in the 3rd round-who was a better fantasy player then Palmer was (well who knows...but I am just saying..) |

Before Palmer was injured he was the #1 QB that year. It won't take him long to get right back there when he has a full off-season of footall training instead of just leg rehabilitation. And like Dave said, QBs are generally of higher value in a keeper league...whereas I also think there are some RBs with very similar value still out there as well....like I said, it's not like it was a bad pick, it was just surprising.

These early picks also help to show what direction owners are looking at for their respective teams.. helps set the strategy for later rounds

officially we are on hold for RTT... I am not positive he knew before his vacation, that we were starting the draft...
Is there anyone that knows how to get a hold of him?

RTT was banned from 2k so I can't. He said he wasnt that interested in fanhome so I don't know.
The reason I picked Palmer was because I figured he would be back to his normal self.

Come on Dave, Make that change. we have been drafting all week and we had 3,4 days warning beforehand and he is the only one that hasn't even picked a team name and he hasn't even posted in a mouth.
One can't be active without knowing we are drafting by now. I think we have given him more the enough time. |
