For a long time in Cape Coral there hasn't been a Pro Fantasy Football team for the city to support, they have lived and died by the record of their Fantasy Baseball team the Cape Coral Crappies. The Crappies were originally a terrible organization that came in last place their first year, they however rebounded to bring a Championship to the city the very next year, and returned the playoffs the following year. Owner Bryan Wolf discussed the building of a Football Stadium right next to Pooper Scooper Field, and the city obliged. MLB Officials would not allow Mr. Wolf's new football team to have the same name as their MLFB franchise, so they have chosen to be called the Lee County Lepers. In keeping tradition with his baseball franchise, Bryan Wolf said he likes to pick a name that would indicate a terrible franchise so that the fans come to the games expecting very little. This way, they will never be disappointed, and most of the time actually pleasantly surprised.
