Dont know the title, but on MST3K, I saw a hokey picture about a stock car driver who could press a button on his watch and jump into a different time. Top 5 Great Books Made Into Horrible Movies
1) "Slapstick of Another Kind"....the obscene Jerry Lewis crime against Vonnegut's "Slapstick." 2) "Son of the Morning Star" Evan S, Connel's sadly poetic overview of the plains Indians and the Custer fight, transformed into a low budget, badly acted television movie. 3) "Excaliber" Malory's classic Le Morte D'Arthur emerged as a visualy blinding, cranky spirited, confusing magic show. 4) "Gods and Generals"...Jeff Shaara's excellent novel of the early Civil War years turned into an endurance contest of stiff acting, simplistic scripting, and coma inducing pageantry. 5) "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy"....Douglas Adams intelligent and funny series which has emerged first as a so-so mini-series and then a pretty awful movie. Well ding dang damn.....happened again.
