Carlin and Gallagher would seem to have the advantages, especially the arsenal of props which Gallagher used to smash things to bits. And they would be facing a super skinny guy and a heroin addict who smoked four packs a day.

But.....if for some reason, and it is hard to imagine what it would be, you have been keeping up with the career/life of Carrot Top, you would know that he has inexplicably decided to buff up, sure looks like a steroid case to me. He has transformed himself incredibly, from that sweet little wispy guy who looked like anyone could beat him up.....to this:

This seems part of a general Michael Jackson style mental breakdown because he hasn't stopped with the muscles, he has gone whole hog in the physical transformation department. Look....

All of the above was news to me....I was looking for a picture of the old, skinny Carrot Top to illustrate my point and came across this stuff, I had no idea.

He looks like a serial killer.

So GS...serial killer or Lucille Ball on steroids?

I think his appearance rules out serial killer, he is far too identifiable, no profiler or dna expert would be required to catch him.

I wasn't aware that there was such a feature until you brought it to my attention just now. Having been made aware, I would now require an explanation as to their purpose.

Oh. What does it say about me that the first thought which crossed my mind after learning what these were for, was that someone could completely screw the whole thing up by deliberately mistagging things? And probably someone will. You could tag every post by an enemy poster using "jerk" as the keyword. Then when someone looked up "jerk" on the tag list and clicked it, that person would be rewarded with all the posts contributed by your enemy.

If Fidel Castro had made it in baseball, what would have become of Cuba?

I think that they would have had to put a team in Puerto Rico as well so as to sustain balanced numbers of MLB clubs. Back when they added Arizona and Tampa Bay and moved the Brewers to the NL, instead they could have left the Brewers in place, added Havana to the AL and San Juan to the NL and each league would have 16 teams. Then Atlanta would be moved to the NL Central (Brewers are no longer there) so that San Juan joins the NL East. Havana would become the sixth team in the AL East. With the Brewers remaining in the AL Central, we would need to shift the Royals to the AL West to make them both five team divisions.

And that's what I think would have happened.

The weekly matchup question prevented a more serious inquiry about the legacy of George Carlin. Would you care to opine?

There was a Carlin thread on the CE board and I posted there....I wrote:

Carlin was cool. He had the guts and the talent to trash what was a reasonably successful comic persona, the Hippy-Dippy weatherman/Indian sergeant stuff, and reinvent himself as a Mark Twain/H.L. Mencken style social critic. It was a good move. Had he stayed with the original style, he would have faded from memory after his popularity was exhausted. Because of the metamorphisis, he reached something of an institutional status ala Will Rogers or Lenny Bruce....THE social critic comedian of his times.

No. It's mean spirited place of endless contention and strife, far too brutal for a person of your gentle upbringing and sensitivities. Your innocence would be an instant casualty.
