Well done.

Speaking of this weekend, what do you plan to do with that extra hour?

Last year I never made the adjustment. I spent the entire winter an hour behind everyone else, I kept falling asleep and waking up too early.

I don't care for the way all this is handled. They should either leave it alone and have no changes at all, or they should adopt my plan of turning back the clock one hour each day, that way, every 24 days, we get an entire extra day, or an additional 15 days a year. That would be worth the trouble, this one hour business, isn't.

Ever wanted a motor home? Are they relevant, or relics of a bygone era?

I view them as Selfishmobiles and have never wanted one. The classic sight is the monster Winnebago crawling along the highway towing the monster RV behind it. There was one in the parking lot of the shopping center I went to yesterday. I counted, it was occupying 11 parking spaces. You can't see around them, you can't get around them...and all so that some people, when they wish to get away from it all, can take their entire homes with them as they escape.

No Winnebago? How can you justify your hedonistic lifestyle, then?

My hedonism is composed of avoiding work and taking care of myself while not showing concern for the woes of humanity. However, if called upon to justify it with a rationalization, I would point out that I am a very low consuming hedonist. This isn't out of morality, it is a matter of me simply not wanting very much or needing very much to make do. Wealth to me represents only one truly valued thing.....not having to work. Since I was a wee one, I have grasped that to the greatest degree possible, I wanted my life to be composed of electives and devoid of obligations. That is why I never cared for authority figures, they always represented the obligations.

Time shifting confuses me, but wouldn't we have to turn clocks ahead, not back, to gain days?

My plan is to turn back the clock one hour twice a month. I like getting the extra hour of sleep, then just get rid of some useless day like January 31. I wouldn't miss it, would you?

No, you gain an hour by turning the clock back....it's 5pm, you make it 4pm and you've got an extra hour. Make it 6 pm and you've lost an hour.

As for missing any particular day, I live the sort of life where date and time are not very critical. People ask me "What are your plans for the weekend?" and I never have a satisfactory answer because weekend days and weekdays are the same for me.

Ted Williams 1941 season v. Joe Dimaggio's 1941 season.

Williams had the superior season, one of the best in ML history. DiMaggio had the hitting streak, which was a fluke with no impact on the pennant race...and also had a fine season, but not nearly as good as Williams. In fact, I would classify the hitting streak as the single most overhyped sports achievement ever. It didn't mean a damn thing, the goal of the batter is to get lots of hits and avoid making outs, not to organize the hits in any particular pattern of games.

It seems all the other big names on the internet offer a toolbar. Is there a Granstander toolbar in the making and what features will it have? I'm ready to download.

Any other sports records that get far more play than they deserve?

That a pitcher the caliber of Don Larsen threw a perfect game seems a fluke. That he did so in the World Series compounds the flukery. Plus he was a Yankee. That one never held much romance for me.

I also find sometimes annoying, these single season combo accomplishments based on the roundeness of some number....only the third player ever with at least 20 everything or something. It's great that someone hit .320 and got 20 homers and stole 20 bases and had 20 triples and 20 whatevers, but if his teammate with no triples or stolen bases, but with 45 homeruns has a much higher OPS, why are we celebrating the 20 dude? Again, the object of a batter isn't to post round, even numbers, it's to pile up bases and not make outs. How it's done is far less important than that it is done and how much.

Considering Williams should have won the MVP in both 1941 and 1942, that he missed '43. '44, and '45 due to military service, that he won it in 1946, lost it by one point to Dimaggio in 1947 in perhaps the biggest MVP rip-off of all time, and then won it again in 1949, was he 'the greatest hitter' of all time?

I'd put him second to Ruth.
