A decade seems to me to be an awfully long time for something like this to stand. You seem to be a sporting type, Grandstander...how about financing and constructing a car to break that speed record, and appointing some hapless boob - skrable, say - to drive it?
Welcome back, guy.

Way ahead of you. We are now in the process of the final trials for the GrandFlash, the absolute latest word in high speed engineering. We're still looking for investors, not too late to cash in.

Physically.....on the surface it would appear that the robust, relentlessly energetic Teddy has an enormous advantage over the crippled, chair bound Franklin. However, .......ugh......well........okay, Teddy would have an enormous advantage.

Both were men of whom it was said that they swamped you with their outlandish personalities, dominating with ease, any gathering.

Both were men with patrician backgrounds who became champions of the lower classes.

Both were social progressives.

Both had the same last name.

So, based on the physical superiority, and the better looking wife, I'm going to give the nod to Teddy.

You have to, really. As remarkable an individual as Franklin was, historians are drawn to Teddy because he lived about a half dozen biographies worth in his lifetime. I find it exhausting just reading about him.

My favorite T.R. story is where he got shot before a speech in Milwaukee and went ahead with the 1 hour speech before going to the hospital..

What politician of the last 30 years could you see doing that?

I must say I am impressed by the longevity of this thread. It's been almost 6 years since I first came to fanhome and it's been about two years since I last posted last but the one consistant has been Grandstander.

Kudos...

My question is...what is noetsi doing these days?

Thanks. And welcome back.

Noetsi is still around on the Politcal Board, he seems to come in concentrated periods of intense posting, followed by absent spells. No longer a moderator, he is easier to get along with now. I would also say that events have rehabilitated him somewhat in that all the extended bloody internal chaos he forecast as the outcome before the Iraq invasion took place, has indeed come true with a vengeance.

Hope you'll be sticking around.

You seem to have a special affinity for three-wheel vehicles. Do you picture your personal goal advancement to be in the direction or 2-wheelers, or 4-wheelers?

Do you think the Rockes pitching staff will be well rested? Oh, wait---I lost track, are the Rockies going to the World Series this year, or next year? Is the delay due to the fact that MLB refused to let them print World Seris tickets when the Mets did. or can they just use the Mets tickets?
