(Wiki) A tag cloud or word cloud (or weighted list in visual design) is a visual depiction of user-generated tags, or simply the word content of a site, used typically to describe the content of web sites. Tags are usually single words and are typically listed alphabetically, and the importance of a tag is shown with font size or color. [1] Thus both finding a tag by alphabet and by popularity is possible. The tags are usually hyperlinks that lead to a collection of items that are associated with a tag.
A tag cloud is a set of related tags with corresponding weights. Typical tag clouds have between 30 and 150 tags. The weights are represented using font sizes or other visual clues. Meanwhile, histograms or pie charts are most commonly used to represent approximately a dozen different weights. Hence, tag clouds can represent many more weights, though less accurately so. Also, frequently, tag clouds are interactive: tags are hyperlinks typically allowing the user to drill down on the data. --------------------- There. Now that it is perfectly clear, we will proceed to an example. I will now click on "tag cloud" and see how valuable this tool is. There, I'm back. The terms with the highest font were: gamethread / poll / stadium / nfl / tampa bay rays So, you see, it would be very difficult for us to carry on this discussion without this critical feature. Thank goodness the moderators realized how important it was, before it was too late to save us from tag-cloud starvation.. Don't get carried away, though. That is not the most important feature. If you click on "Calendar", you will actually get a real calendar, just like the one hanging on your wall. Bonus---it will also reveal (among absolutely nothing else) the birthdates of the tiny number (3.6%) of Fanhome members who have elected to display that data. Isn't that wonderful? You'll be relieved to know, though, that the Homeland Security Department, through the miracle of the Patriot Act, is at this very moment gathering this data and putting this posting on file, to defend our freedom and our way of life. Is it any wonder that hundreds of stand-up comics have developed thousands of hours of routines based on the absurdity of our civilization, and have barely scratched the surface.

It's a feature that comes with the board software (I'm a member of another forum with the exact same set-up). I guess they just decided it wouldn't hurt to impliment.
