Jesus H. Christ, this post has been up for 5 frickin' hours and only one Goddamn hit?? I know most you SOB's didn't have a sense humor (God knows the Mods don't) but damn this is worse then I thought. I think most you find only yourself funny, that might be part of the problem

The word "comedians" applied to both sexes usually carries the connotation of stand-up. If we stretch that out to include wit, quickness, creativity [including use of media] & imagination, I'd include:

Johnny Carson

Ernie Kovacs

Steven Wright

Charlie Callas

Kathy Griffin

and two giants in comedic acting:

Peter Sellers

Alec Guinness

John Candy and Rosanne Barr. Each had something visceral in their personality (very different from each other, though) that enabled them to be hilariously funny just by letting us know what they thought was funny. That is an unusual gift. One tended to laugh WITH them, rather than to laugh at what they were doing.

Eddie Izzard
Demetri Martin

There was a comedian who my Improv Troupe performed after who I thought was absolutely hillarious. His name is Jordan Carlos and he is probably best known as Stephen Colbert's black friend. He has a pretty funny video on youtube called BA-L-ACK Obama.

Haven't heard of any of them, but I do enjoy Betty White...and Lisa Lampanelli.

AGREED! He is my favorite.

People ask me, what was it like when you used to trip on acid. I say, sometimes I would see beams of light. Every now and then I would hear funny noises...they sounded like car horns!

ROTFLMAO!
