And while this isn't a duet per se. It's Suzzy Bogguss and Chet Atkins. It shows the incredible talents of both and some nifty dance moves as well. You'll see why Chet was so good. And Suzzy is a total class act. Pure, composed, angelic voice.

One rumor that went around for years was that Mike Love of the Beach Boys sang on 'Back in the USSR' on the White Album. It was one of those great rumors that could have been true, since Love spent some time in India with the Fab Four, where most of the White Album was written.
Alas, it's been pretty well shot down but it should have been true. They certainly did a nice Beach Boys tribute on that song.

"Prove it"
You can't always get what you want - Recorded on November 16 & 17, 1968. First released on Let It Bleed in 1969. Lead Vocals: Mick Jagger Acoustic & Electric Guitars: Keith Richards Maracas & Congas: Rocky Dijon Bass: Bill Wyman French Horn: Al Kooper Piano & Organ: Al Kooper Drums: Jimmy Miller (Charlie couldn't play this song) Choir: London Bach Choir Background Vocals: Madeline Bell, Nanette Newman, Doris Troy & the London Bach Choir. ----------- I have been a Stones fan for over 30 years. I had never heard that the Beatles sang on the track. I can't discern their voices in the song and they are not credited anywhere that I have seen. Maybe they were mixed in with the choir but not credited. Again, I had never heard that. Considering this, I'll ask you to prove it to me. |

Was Jagger given credit for singing on "All You Need is LOve" ?? No, but he was on the record, and Lennon and McCartney returned the favor on "You can't always get what you want" but you won't see it written as common knowledge.......I've seen or heard about it more then once, when I come across it again, I'll send it your way

Getting back to actual "guest appearances," it does seem as though Paul Simon has had a knack for bringing in the right voices. Along with those already named, I'd add:
The Dixie Hummingbirds on "Loves Me Like A Rock" and Phoebe Snow on "Gone At Last" |
