I bought a new house. Actually, I finally got it Friday. I had to file by mail due to a problem with my former employer's 401(k) plan. I got notice that it had been deposited in my bank account on Friday, along with my Federal refund. Hopefully, this will speed up the $700 I'm owed by NM and PA.

I'm splitting mine with my wife. She'll spend hers on frivolous things. I'll buy a CD.

I can't cash mine, and the money is lost. I filed jointly, and the check names two payees, who are now 1,000 miles apart. Banks refuse to even accept them for deposit, unless it is to a joint account in both payees' names or they both come in together and endorse in the presence of the bank teller. This is how the government will pay for the war---by sending out millions of checks that cannot be cashed because of moronic and paranoid Patriot Act restrictions on banks.

Luckily, I have an account in a bank where the other payee lives, so I can maill it, and have the other payee take it to my bank for deposit into my account. I hope. Wish me luck.

Why the Roman Empire fell: People figured out ways to cash government checks. America is being more careful.

Just got it today. Will put it in our checking account. Most will go to help my wife's parents build a wheelchair ramp in front of their house.

Though if I could spend it on something frivilous, I'd use it toward the Fender VG Strat:
