Default What Song is running through your head?

Tell us about it, so we can all have the same thing driving us crazy together. How about a little camaraderie here.

I got a bad one.....the last couple of days I've been stuck with that stupid, childish closing credits song from the movie "The Longest Day." Did you know that it was written by Paul Anka?

Many men came here as soldiers
Many men will pass this way
Many men will count the hours
As they live the longest day

Many men are tired and weary
Many men are here to stay
Many men won't see the sunset
When it ends the longest day

The longest day
the longest day
This will be the longest day
Filled with hopes and filled with fears
Filled with blood and sweat and tears

Many men the mighty thousands
Many men to victory
Marching on right into battle
In the longest day in history

The tune is this innocuous trip up and down the scales which far from providing a feel of battlefield determination, sound smore like the music you hear while riding the merry go round.

It's horrible....it won't stop, I've started mangling the lyrics on purpose, and it still won't stop. In my head it's now:

Many men
Are singing this song
As they march
Into their graves
Many men
Went nuts from this song
The one they call
The Longest Day

The longest day
the longest day
Other days
Are shorter days
That makes this
The longest day
And this song
won't go away

You’re pink you’re young you’re middle-class
they say it doesn’t matter
fifteen blue shirts and womanly hands
you’re shooting up the ladder

Your mind is racing like a pro, now
oh my god it doesn’t mean a lot to you
one time you were a glowing young ruffian
oh my god it was a million years ago

Sometimes you get up and bake a cake or something
sometimes you stay in bed
sometimes you go la di da di da di da da
til your eyes roll back into your head

Your mind is racing like a pro, now
oh my god it doesn’t mean a lot to you
one time you were a glowing young ruffian
oh my god it was a million years ago

you’re dumbstruck baby
you’re dumbstruck baby now you know
you’re dumbstruck baby
you’re dumbstruck baby now you know

A really good group call the National, the CD is The Boxer, the song is "Racing Like A Pro"

Driving to law school one morning for a day of final exams, the song "Don't Worry, Be Happy" came across my radio. That song stayed in my head all day. It almost drove me crazy. To this day, I despise that song.

We should work out an exchange program to afford ourselves relief via variety. To that end, I'll trade you the Longest Day theme for Don't Worry.

Deal?

Any time this music comes up in a sports game, the instrumental portion stays in my head for the rest of the week:

Since I read about Springsteen's keyboard player dying, I've got "Fourth of July Asbury Park" in my head. I don't mind a bit. I love that song.

There are two that pop in my head from time to time for no apparent reason. I don't even have to hear them: Funeral March of a Marionette and the theme to Mister Rogers Neighborhood.
