Default New Digital Camera

I just bought a new digital camera. Anyone on here that can give me some pointers about photography?

Go to Flickr: Camera Finder , select your camera, and see a lot of photos taken by people with a camera exactly like yours. This will give you an idea of what to expect from your camera.

Rule of thirds - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Invest in a battery charger and rechargeable batteries. Some cameras chew up batteries a lot faster than others.

Learn how to control exposure. The manual should have tips. Experiment and take notes.

I can give you some pointers on composition and shutter speeds and such, but I don't do digital. I do much custom black and white work with medium format cameras, and a digital back for one of those babies is just too expensive to even think about. 30 grand and up. Have to shoot a whole lot of babies to justify that. Besides, I do all my own developing and printing. There's not as much creative control if the camera does all the work for ya.
