Check out this commercial, currently running on Canadian TV's Olympic coverage:

If I had to choose one all-time number-one animation, it would be "Black Hula", from MTV's Liquid Televsion, circa 1990:

The 2nd one is the most interesting. Rand discusses the political implications of her philosophy.

What a voice and presence Wallace had. And Rand is very sharp.

I will probably not come to this page anymore, because it takes way too long to wait while 38 full-screen graphics to load. What was wrong with the old system, of just presenting a URL text hot-link?

Yeah, it's pretty new to me, but I can see how it made such an impression on Neil Pert. Along the same lines...

The above dramatisation of the John Galt speech from "Atlas Shrugged" really piqued my interest in Ayn Rand and Objectivism. Rational self interest... individuals over groups... a focus on achievement and the pursuit of happiness... no force except in self defense... it all sounded good. I watched a few more youtubes made by objectivists, went to "Objectivism Online" and looked around a bit at the political philosophy section. Lots of good stuff there... but red flags started going up when I looked at their criticisms of McCain. He's not hawkish enough on Iran...?

This evening I made my way to the Ayn Rand Institute and discovered its current president, a fellow named Yaron Brook. He wants depose the Saudis and seize their oil...

He wants to make war on, and possibly nuke, all "Islamic Totalitarian" states...

Quote:
From the beginning of the War on Terrorism, Brook has argued that Iran should be the primary target of U.S. retaliation for Sept. 11. He supported the invasion of Iraq, however, because he thought it would be better than doing nothing against terrorist-supporting nations in the Middle East and since he expected the US to move on quickly. Since then he has condemned the Bush Administration’s ineffective handling of the war in Iraq.[8] He is for waging war on Islamic totalitarian states, but he believes that Bush’s "Forward Strategy of Freedom" is altruistic, self-defeating, and in opposition to America’s national self-interest.[9]
The US has been attacked first thus it has the moral right to fight Islamism. The sole moral duty of the United States is to defend its citizens against its enemies by all means, even with the use of the atom bomb if necessary. [10]

He wants complete open borders for America...

He was...

Quote:
born and raised in Israel. At the age of 18 he was drafted into the Israeli Army. He served for three years (1979 - 1982), and was a First Sergeant in Israeli military intelligence.
Yaron Brook - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Geez...

Ayn Rand's "legal and intellectual heir," and founder of the Ayn Rand Institute, Leonard Peikoff, screaming at Bill O'Rielly because he doesn't agree that we should nuke Iran and pound Islam in general until it begs for mercy...
