The Gap illustration above is the Hunter-Gatherer difference that evolved through practical need. The woman goes to the store to survey the field and gather what looks useful. The man goes to the store to hunt for what is on the shopping list and brings it down.
What is often misunderstood is that the differnce between men's and women's behavior evolved because there was a need for them to function in a division-or-labor environment. If any man is better suited to carry out the functions normally done by women, a family unit would have two people suited to performing one task, and none the other. This is quite amusing. It shows that women are more detailed oriented, complex, whereas men are just simple functions. But, I think it works in a complementary manner, to some degree. Men don't care about frills, just the basics (food, water, sex), that's it. Women are more evolved, requiring more to maintain / keep.
Would appreciate any thoughts.
