Default No 24 this year

Quote:
Fans of the Fox drama "24" will have to wait until next January to see Jack Bauer again, this television season's most prominent casualty of the Hollywood writers strike. The network has committed to air a full season on consecutive weeks, and had been planning to start last month.

How can these people be so dumb to not shell out $50 or $100 for a ride home?

The person who doesn't believe the Holocaust happened is calling someone dumb?

I used to really love it, but its jumped the shark for me. I'll watch it when it returns but I wouldn't miss it if it were cancelled. Too many superhuman escapes by Jack and too many time loopholes for me.

The producers have become far too self-important about the show's "relevance" while the product itself became stale, repetitive. The plot itself

I wasn't even really looking forward to a new season anyway. Carlos Bernard must have the best agent in all of Hollywood, because the infuriatingly bland Tony Almeida keeps finding ways back into the show.

Of course I always got the feeling that the writers of the show were secretly liberal idealists. On the show, while torture, indefinite detention, and warrantless spying always eventually stop the terrorists within 24 hours time...America still looks like an insanely crappy place to live. Thousands of Americans dying every year from bombs, gases, germs, nukes, meltdowns. Everyone else on the planet, China, Russia, a hundred different terrorist groups and a slew of shady corporations all constantly attacking the American homeland no matter how many countries America invades to 'fight em over there.' Every President is either completely corrupt (and proof of why never to trust government with the very powers Jack Bauer relies on) or is quickly removed from office by assassins, usually with help from inside the government.

Bringing Tony back from the dead is what really sent me over the edge with the show. Worse than the terrorist turned good guy flying from LA to DC in 2 hours last year. I likely won't post on the 24 message board anymore because I'll have to read all the Tony is alive nuts saying "I told you so".

Some of the people there make this place look rational.

It always seemed something that worked ok for one season, but then got awful stale after that. A lot like the 2nd and 3rd Die Hard movies.
