Default The BrownBreadinaCan Memorial Thread

I think it's time to resurrect this. I haven't been around long enough to have known BrownBreadinaCan, but apparently he asked lots of questions. The rules are pretty simple, the first poster asks a question, the next poster answers the question and asks one of their own. Other than that, the only rules are keep it civil. Don't be surprised if you don't get the answer you expect.

I'll start ...

Q. Why do donuts have holes in the middle?

So they can package the cut out 'hole' and charge you for the whole thing.

Did you ever look for BrownBreadinaCan in the grocery store when he was posting, and if so did you find it?

No.

Which would be your first choice for dinner, home or away, your favorite seafood or favorite beef/meat?

Specifics please.

The older I get, the more I enjoy being home. But to answer the question, I'd pick a nice restaurant in my area. We just had a nice dinner last week at a Japanese steakhouse, so I'll go with that. I had filet and scallops. It was fantastic.

Is your favorite baseball team local or a long way from where you live?

My favorite baseball team (the Astros) are about 600 miles away. In this part of the woods (err desert) that's considered local (well almost). The Rangers, DBacks and Rockies are about 100 miles closer.

When ARod hits 40, will he be able to play well enough to justify being paid $27 million a year?

When Arod is 40, will he still be the best thirdbaseman in baseball? Or will someone making a lot less be better? Odds are good that it will be the latter.

Anyone in your neighborhood still have the holiday decorations up? If so, does this annoy you?

You can't do this here. It's sacrilege or however it's spelt. Once the baseball BBQ died it's signature thread went with it. It certainly shouldn't be resurrected or however you spell it by the likes of you, someone who admits not knowing who this brownbread feller was.

Agreed. This can be a simple Q & A, but we already have one where we ask Grandstander. After all, he knows everything.

So, I ask Grandstander... is this thread worthy?

It lives or dies as a concept, the name hardly matters apart from identifying what it is about for those who used to participate on the old board. The worth of a thread may be measured by the amount of participation. People like this one, they will particpate. People ignore it, it will evaporate. It requires no permission from me.

and the question is:

Anyone in your neighborhood still have the holiday decorations up? If so, does this annoy you?

A: Yes, of course. Not so much. I figure they are making up for the decorating I didn't do.

Q: Is there a sport you feel you should support but don't?

Yes, curling. Why don't we have a curling board. You gotta love a sport that requires a broom.

Q. I never knew Jim Thorpe, Walter Johnson or Red Grange. Would it be wrong for me to memorialize them?

Don't make this personal, you weren't given the opportunity to see them in action. BBiaC, however, has been around during your time, and it's just like how my friend who committed suicide two years ago suddenly gained 500 fake friends to pretend like they cared for him much more than they really did. To some people that know/knew BBiaC, it doesn't feel right to them for an "outsider" to attempt to continue this. As for me? I have no personal feelings toward it. To answer your question, there are levels of memorializing that we (as a world community) can accept. Just don't go overboard, sailor.

Q: In your opinion, are sequels and remakes a good thing for the movie industry? (as in, are you specifically for/against movie sequels/remakes?)

It really just depends on the movie that is having a sequel made. Certain movies are great for sequels/continuations. Others I would have preferred they had never made the original. The Godfather was a great movie to make a sequel of, but it probably would be best if the Transporter 2 script was still sitting dormant on some producer's shelf somewhere.

flummoxed.

for the record, Bigheadache participated in many variations of the BBiaC threads on the old board, where he was not only a regular but a mod. those picking on Bighead here are the ones at fault.

q. of the current candidates, who has the name which sounds the most 'presidential"?
