Here are how the teams were divided in the first show:
Men: Hydra Trace Adkins Stephen Baldwin Lennox Lewis Piers Morgan Tito Ortiz Vincent Pastore Gene Simmons Female: Empressario Carol Alt Nadia Camaneci Jennie Finch Nely Galan Marilu Henner Omarosa Tiffany Fallon Episode 1 recap: The boys cleaned up in the hot dog selling competition. The men used their celebrity status and got large donations. Ah, no cameo from Alec Baldwin? We did get to see Jenna Jameson. Omarosa wanted to use her business skills and not sex appeal or celebrity status. Despite some help from David Wright, they got blown out. The boys made $52,286, the girls only made $17,038.79. IMO Omarosa should have been fired however Tiffany, the former playmate of the year was fired for not using her personal contact, Hugh Heff. Piers Morgan is annoying. He wouldn't sell hot dogs to people with less than $10. What an arrogant prick. Lennox Lewis and Tito Ortiz looked like typical jocks, clueless. Gene Simmons could be the superstar of the show but in the preview for next weeks show they showed him insulting Donald Trump's daughter... ugh oh!

Bah! I am really disappointed in this cast.
These are C-list celebrities. Man, I really wish Rosie O'Donnell didn't turn this show down. Are you telling me the biggest actor Donald Trump could find is Big *****? I would have founded 7 young celebrities (under 40) and had them go against 7 older celebrities. Here would be my hypothetical celebrity apprentice (realistic): Team A: Gene Simmons Bill O'Reilly Charles Barkley Simon Cowell Kathy Griffin Star Jones Sharon Osbourne Team B: Mary-Kate + Ashley Olsen (they count as 1) Gisele or some other famous model/playmate Sarah Silverman Heather Mitts or Jennie Finch Frankie Muniz Sean "P Diddy" Combs or Ludacris (imagine him vs. Bill O) Dave Chappelle or some other funny comedian like Chris Tucker, Chris Rock.

Totally a production decision to go with keeping Omorrosa. She's only there to create division.
As for the level of celebrity, this is the first "celebrity" reality show where I've known more than half the candidates. The producers have some fairly big names - Lennox Lewis and Tito Ortiz aren't C listers.

You've said a lot of intellectually questionable things in your time, but this one is a head-scratcher. There have been countless reality shows and game shows on "network tv" and there seems to be very little pattern in the gender, race, religion or ethnic background of the winners.
What are you basing this claim on? Signals received from your tinfoil beanie? |

Most of the reality shows require objective competitions where it's more difficult to manipulate the results. The Apprentice is entirely subjective. This makes it easier to pick the politically correct choice.
Look at the list of six winners: two white males, two white females, one black male, one Arab. We're either due for another black male (Lennox Lewis), our first Hispanic (Tito Ortiz), a woman of color (to even out the 4-2 male/female disparity) or a Jew (Gene Simmons.) Once all the minority bases are covered, then we'll get another white man. |

It's naive to think that actual skill is the only thing that determines the results. From Day 1, you're dealing with a socially engineered group of contestants designed to reflect the overall demographics of the U.S. You have about as many males as females, and about as many blacks, Hispanics and Asians (by percentage) as you would find in the general population. I'm not saying there's necessarily anything wrong with this formula. It is what it is, and I understand the purpose behind it. I just find it laughable that people think these shows are an actual meritocracy. They're politically correct popularity contests manipulated to achieve maximum ratings. |

I am just giving an opinion based on what we know about the egos of both Gene Simmons and Donald Trump... and what we have all heard about the previous seasons of "the Apprentice"... I am not a reality show guy
