Are they legit #1 in the World?
I surely think so, and all their matches prove it--but they are getting no publicity (not that anyone does, this is soccer), and when I ask who are the top teams, I usually get the generic "Barca and Arsenal" answer, despite both teams, especially Arsenal, are severely struggling.
So, if they are not the number one team, who is? Chelsea? Man-U?
To me, it's got to be them--without a doubt.

Lyon is definitely a contender. They are an incredibly balanced team, in my opinion. Plus, they have one of the best midfielders in the world today, Juninho. They don't get any publicity because people don't know how good they really are until they crush Madrid, for example. The French league flies under the radar too much and that's why Lyon suffers. In a way, the French league has become a player showcase league.

But Lyon is solid. Can they beat Chelski or Barca in a semifinal or final match. Probably not. But who knows...

Some people think PSV will win the Champions League, so I'm sure some people think Lyon can win it too.

The team is more than just Juninho, even though his set pieces really give them a huge edge. I watched tha game vs Real, and Real was very lucky to pull out a draw. I agree on the balance of the team, which really shows when average players like Malouda or Carew start to play really well. IMO that's the best indicator of a top team.

As for PSV, i assume you're talking about me. I'm not sure whether they will win it, but they definitely have a shot. Very solid team at the moment.
