According to the report above from Sky Sports, the new City owner is preparing a January transfer bid of £135M for Cristiano Ronaldo, posing the first serious test for Fergie with regards to his attachment to the youngster.

This is very interesting news, but leaves me wondering -- why didn't they buy Bolton instead?

(Good news for City, seeing them get so much so quickly, though it COULD come back and bite them in the ass if they underperform. Particularly Mark Hughes)
