Default Winding Down

The season is fast approaching it's final few games, and it would seem that luck has run out for Arsenal in their title chase. I'm not saying they're out of it, but with Man United on peak form, and Chelsea still being Chelsea, it's a VERY long shot for them.

It also seems Keegan's got Newcastle going the other way on the table once again. If this season has proven anything for Newcastle, or at the very least, for Big Sam, it's that poaching managers from clubs that achieve success on a tight budget will do nothing when the world is their oyster but spend stupid money on players that aren't worth it. With the lineup Bolton had going into the season, they could've pulled a top-5 season under Big Sam...

Speaking of Bolton, it would appear that we're about to see the end of their eight-year stint in the prem. Again, a result of Big Sam's big head and the clubs complete lack of proper funds. The only thing that could truly save them would be pulling max points from their next 3 contests, and with both Villa and the Hammers on a decent run of form, it's just not looking good. I'm hoping beyond anything that they pull this one out (as a long time Trotters fan, it's just devastating to see them play so well and keep loosing because no one can find the back of the net), but we need Davies, Dioufy and Nolan to start putting that ball in the back of the net, frequently.

Finally, I had to mention Derby. I feel terrible watching them play week in and week out. It's not that they're a bad club, but they have no real premiership talent in their roster, and it shows. Example being that game against Fulham last week. Their first goal was, essentially, a missed shot that took a ricochet off of Emanuel Villa and went in. It's a valid goal, sure, but you can't expect to beat a team with pure luck. Especially when that team answers back just minutes later. Better luck next year, Derby!

Just thought I'd go ahead and make a fresh Prem thread, as I haven't had the chance to make one lately.
