Damn- Montreal couldn't have him anymore anyways but the Canadiens powerplay will misss that booming shot. He did good for the Canadiens but he didn't want Montreals offer of 4 years 22 million. I dont think he is making much more in Edmonton. He goyt a five year 27 million dollar contract in edmonton.

The thing here is that Souray wants to actually live and play here in Edmonton. This is enough to get us excited and the fact that he has the booming shot from the point and able to pick it up from the back end. This bodes well for the Oilers in developing some of their more offensive minded defensemen like Smid and now Pitkanen.
