Dallas (25-18-5) is 2-2-1 against San Jose (25-13-7) this season, getting both of its wins at HP Pavilion, where it hasn't lost since a 2-0 Sharks win on Oct. 17, 2006. In the teams' last meeting, the Stars won 4-2 in San Jose on Dec. 15 to take a two-point lead over the Sharks for first place in the Pacific.

Dallas aren't playing too well of late, so let's hope this game starts a turnaround effort wherein Dallas get back to their true form...

Also, as a sidenote for this thread, Dallas have recalled forward BJ Crombeen from Iowa for his NHL debut, in hopes of turning recent fortunes around. Dallas Stars - News: Crombeen recalled from Iowa - 01/16/2008

Go Stars!

...so...

-BJ Crombeen was scratched so that Dallas could play 7 D (with Fistric being the 7th D-man)

-The Sharks Commentators are pathetically biased...

-Rivet just absolutely 100% boarded Brenden Morrow at the end of the 1st period, and because Daley stood up for his teammate, Dallas wound up shorthanded, with absolutely nothing but a 5 minute fighting call going against Rivet. HOW? Daley wound up with 2 for instigating, 5 for fighting and a 10 minute misconduct penalty, and even the Sharks commentators figured out that Rivet's hit was atrociously high and should have been a boarding call at least.

Talk about inconsistent referees...the second period is going to be HARSH.

Well, haven't been around here in a couple of years. Hello Wings For Dinner, I'm an old-timer and a stick in the mud as Goalie Girl use to call me from the Guppie Group. So...go with the flow and forget about the old huh? I've been a hockey fan since the 70's when there was a CHL team in Fort Worth and Dallas.....the Texans and Blackhawks and then the Stars in 93.
Myself and Jane Eyre and Wildfan use to moderate these boards and then PenaltyBox took over. So yeah, long time.

Absolutely, Morrow got smashed with no call, but then again what do expect from Magoo-hoo?

Sharks looked as schizophrenic as the Stars do some times in that last game. I'm sure Jimmy the Fish would agree if he is still around?

And Jane Eyre and Wildfan and Marina....y'all still here or long gone?

I have a vicious enthusiasm towards the Stars and not much room for underachieving, unshaven guys on ice. Earn your pay boys so we all can cheer in our comfy chairs.
Nice meeting you Wings for Dinner and pleeeeze tell me neo-whatever is long gone from this board. If not well I guess the helter-skelter of the Stars board continues on.

Hey RibEye, it's GREAT to see another Stars fan of any description around here

Sadly, I'm the last of the 'actively posting' breed, the rest have all moved on to a different board. It's a shame, but I do what I can to add at least a little bit of activity to the forum.

I'm a relatively new hockey fan, by comparison. Given the fact that I'm English and only caught on when I moved to the States in '95, but I'm absolutely devoted to Dallas Stars hockey, so I know full well about the passion

It's true, you couldn't really have expected much on the Morrow play, but something that blatant usually catches the eye of the poor guy stuck working with McGeough...

Excusing the double post here ():

Here's the hit and fight (or...Daley being used as a punch bag, but still standing up for Morrow). I want to point out one thing, for those looking to discredit it: Morrow looked back, yes, but he looked at Ribeiro, not Rivet. No, he didn't have a chance to get out of the way, as he was moving to make the play.
