Speaking of moved threads, I moved a baseball interview with the President to the baseball forum and the Michael Vick Indictment thread to the NFL forum as he is an NFL player and there had already been discussion about his situation there.

It reflects the old problem with what is and is not current events. I always thought calling it the economic and politics board made more sense

If politics covers things like the law, philosophy etc.

I thought the thread actually was not so much about vic, let alone the NFL, but about a dog baiting ring getting busted. Although one unnamed poster soon turned it into a discussion of Vick I guess

I think if a thread deals with an issue like dog fighting or fixing games rather than actual game play, it should stay in the Current Events section.

IF the topic of a thread is SPORTS will not be left in a section called "Everything but Sports"

Vick is the biggest topic in Football right now
Steroids is the biggest topic in Baseball
and the biggest topic in the NBA, any where in the country

Someone being arrested for dog fighting has nothing to do with sports, even if that person is a pro football player. Neither does a thread about a person killing his family if he is in the faux sport of pro wrestling.

If you were right then you wouldn't see these issues being covered on ESPN, FSN or the Sports section of newspapers would you?
