Anyone pick it up?
Was # 87 of 91 in line @ Best Buy. Went @ 5:00 AM on launch day. Well over 115 people in line when they handed out the tickets. Wii Sports is FANTASTIC! What a great way to sell a system. Picked up Zelda and Truma Center as well. Zelda looks like crap on my HDTV. I won't touch it until I pick up my component cables. Truma Center is a great game...I have it for the DS, but I wanted it for the Wii. Also rented Red Steel. What a pile of crap. Keep away @ all costs. Having a Wii party tomorrow with 8 people coming over...should be fun! |

A bunch of my friends got early copies due to their connections and rubbed it in my faceover dinner a few nights back.
One of them works at the XBox support center and was joking that they might replace the 360 in the media center with a Wii I'll get one as soon as I know I have the money for it. Downloadable old school games? Backwards GameCube compatibility? Yes, please. |

I am so torn on if I should buy this or not. I am a pretty big Sony fanboy but I like what Nintendo has done with the Wii and I don’t see myself getting a PS3 until summer at the earliest.
Pretty funny thing I heard on G4 the other day. A guy was playing a bowling game on the Wii and when his arm went forward to complete the bowling motion the Wii controller flew out of his hand and right into I think a 40 some inch HDTV and cracked the screen. lol I wonder how many similar incidents to this we will hear about. Why didn't he put the wrist tether on?

Ouch then that sucks...I guess that is why you should make sure your hanging on to the controller really tight when your doing it in front of a huge tv like that. What really sucks, is the fact that he now has to replace such an expensive tv set.

I was listening to the news to day on my way to the store and the anchor was saying that one man broke his wife’s nose while playing some Wii Tennis game. He swung too hard on his backswing and, pop, right into his wife’s nose. Also while playing the same game, another man let go of his controller and it flew into the wall, breaking the controller and dented the wall. Some Wii owners are even calling Nintendo to complain about shoulder stiffness.

![]() This kind of stuff is outrageous! The system may not have any bugs, but it most certainly is flawed (and probably child-proof). |

Apparently, this machine was not made dumbass proof. There's no reason for you to swing your arm like some kind of an animal, even in the tennis game. Yes the controller recognize relative difference in the speed of your swing, but doing it at max speed is not more effective than a quicker, more composed one.
