Default Help with icon identification

When I try to click on a link that should open mediaplayer, most of the time it works fine, but at one site, I get nothing but a blank screen in a new window. (Other people do not have a problem from this link.) To the left of the word "Done" at the left of the lower IE window frame, a symbol appears that looks like an open rectangle, with a wide blue arrow pointing down at it. This displays for a few milliseconds, and this is immediately replaced with a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it. This is apparently trying to alert me to a system fault, using a language that was invented by L. Ron Hubbard, who took it to the grave with him. Anybody know how to interpret this, or if there is a place I can go through these symbols like a book of mugshots and see if I can recognize it?

Shouldn't you post the language here for interpretation?

I can't. Hovering over the icon does not trigger any information, so I cannot recreate it to display it, only describe it.

By the way, the thing works in the Firefox browser, but not in IE. I re-installed IE-7, but still no go. Same result as before.

One online Q/A site replied to such a question by suggesting I look for a firewall, but as far as I know, I'm not running any firewalls. I'm using AVG-Free security, which does not offer a firewall. Unfortunately, it is impossible to temporarily disable AVG Free, so I can't check to see if that is my problem.

AVG 8.0 can be temporarily disabled.

Windows has it own firwall. Maybe that's on.

Now, after re-installing internet explorer, I cannot access ANY mpegs or other audio or video files that required mediaplayer, realplayer or quicktime, from any online source. However Firefox handles them perfectly. So the problem is apparently in my IE-7, both before and after re-installing. Mpegs that i have saved in my harddrive will still play.
