The lack of fans grasping the potential gravity of next weekend's series is startling. I just got back from King Soopers, and purchased a pair of tickets for both Saturday and Sunday's games. For Saturday, I have ROW 1 in the upper deck opposite third base. For Sunday, I have ROW 3 between home and 1st base in the upper deck. $8 per ticket, the King Soopers deal for customers. Can't believe the fans in this town are this slow, but I'll take 'em!

Nope, no subprime fallout for me, thank goodness. Just not part of any season ticket group, and I happen to like the upper deck in lower rows between first and third base. At $8 for a series like this, it could be the best sports bargain in Denver for a long time. Being a "value investor", I couldn't resist.

All the way back up to about 11.5% chance of making the playoffs (according to BP). That comes from their simulated remainder of the season, and I have to say that pretty much matches my gut feeling.
The Dodgers are all but mathematically eliminated. Thanks to our Rox, the Padres are now under 50%. If I had to guess right now, I'd say the Phillies will take the wild card, simply based on getting the Nationals at home for the final 3 games. |
