OK, Rockies, here's your chance to turn things around and salvage April.
2 favorable pitching matchups in 3 home games. Friday: Francis vs. Chuck James. Similar pitchers, but Francis is better. He needs to put that horrible start behind him. Saturday: Hirsh vs. Smoltz. The way Hirsh is going, this could be a good one, but you've got to give the edge to Smoltz. Sunday: Cook vs. Kyle Davies. Here's the one that should give the Rockies some momentum as they hit the road in SF on Monday. 2 of 3 is essential. A sweep would be very, very nice, bringing them back to nearly .500 (12-13) by Sunday night. |

Favorable pitching matchups they maybe, but we don't have the Joneses or Francoeur. We have the power outage none as our lineup.

Drew, you and I think alike.
I just flipped this one on ... Francis is awfully lucky to only have given up 2 runs, but Clint sent him up there to hit -- and out there to pitch the 6th -- anyway. I don't get it. Predictable result: you give up a chance to score a run, and then Francis serves up a bomb to Craig Wilson. |

And "Affeldt is really in a good place right now"... Our announcers are in Bizarro world. This entire organization is in Bizarroville. Larry doubles and then makes a really dumb base running error.
Affeldt is a goon. He needs more gold chains. I think if he had like ten lbs of gold chains he might pitch better. The guy can't pitch. He's got stuff but he can't pitch. |
