Why didn't Hurdle double-switch with Torrealba coming in when Fuentes was inserted in the game? That way, he wouldn't have pinch hit for Fuentes, and we could have gotten 2 innings from our best reliever. I don't get it.

We have to hope for Bautista to keep them scoreless in the 11th, instead of Fuentes. Smart move, Clint.

Way to go, Rox. I like seeing a team overcome it's manager's attempts to sabotoge a nice game.

I've been tied up all day and I just saw the game. What a shot from Fat Matt. Awesome! Like I've always said, "Matt Holliday is my favorite Rockies player." Matt and I are thick as thieves, always have been

Was that really 5 walks for Todd Helton? I don't see anyone trying to bust him inside this season. That's where his HR power is. He looks fantastic. This was a nasty ugly and very entertaining baseball game. I'm sure Bobby Cox cussed the entire Brave team out after this one.

I wonder if Wickman will be allowed on the plane.

Everyone is saying how great a game this was.

Dramatic? Exciting? Sure. But I can't call this a great game for the Rockies. The Braves did their damndest to hand this to us, and we did our damdest to hand it back. It takes a starter knocked out after 4 innings, 15.... FIFTEEN!!... free passes (13 BB, 2 HBP), a closer impolsion of the third kind, a miracle unassisted triple play, and sloppy defense by the opposition to avoid a sweep?

Awesome game to watch. But hardly a well-played game by the Rockies.

I agree, TIR. An old axiom by Casey Stengel (or maybe it was someone else, I can't remember) is that most games are lost, not won. This one was lost by our opponent, not won by us. The Braves did their best to lose. 15 free passes attests to that.

We didn't do our best to win it, and were damn lucky to come away with a W.
