Players who have needed to "slow the game down" in the first 3 weeks of the season, in the words of our valiant skipper:
Iannetta Tulo Holliday (after choking with the bases loaded very early on) Hawkins Hirsh Tavares I am not making this up. Each and every one of these players has been offered the wise counsel of the Sage of Lodo, our one and only Cooler: "slow the game down." Hey, is it possible that a manager could also benefit from the same time-honored advice? Hey, Clint, please "slow the game down" for us. Don't be the ADHD kid, sitting Helton for unnecessary "rest," shuffling pitchers in and out because no reliever can ever be made to pitch more than one inning at a time, overthinking platoon matchups and the starting rotation. While you're at it, maybe you could bring Dan O'Dowd along to the "slow the world down" seminar. Maybe he'd overcome his obsessive-compulsive stockpiling of washed-up veterans and 5th starters, the stupid guaranteed contract signings of guys like Josh Fogg, LaTroy Hawkins, and Tom Martin, and the frenetic phantom injury Springs-LoDo express? Let's all "slow the world down," and start thinking toward '08, because I am about ready to close the book on '07 ... and it ain't even done snowing yet in Denver. |

Fans can, but as a team let's not waive the white flag after early April numbers. This team does need to get guys like Tulo back on track as they are attempting, and if they are successful in doing that most of their goals are still well within reach. Way to early to quit now. That's not slowing things down, it's stopping. Last edited by hiaspire; April 24th, 2007 at 02:06 PM. |

It's clearly a totally different swing. He's been swinging one way for goodness knows how long. I guess we know why he wasn't in the lineup. They've completely revamped his swing. Something which I completely applaud. However, have no idea if he can hit the ball like this.
Send Tulowitzki to AAA or AA. Don't rebuild a guy's swing on the fly and expect him to hit MLB pitching. That's just ridiculous. He's now got his front leg extended and his weight back. Not quite like Andre Dawson used to. But his old swing was extremely upright. Send him down already. And oh yeah fire Clint Hurdle. |

Finley almost singlehandedly gave us the 1-0 lead with a homer in the 8th inning. But, alas, it ran out of gas at the warning track, lowering Finley's average below .150.
But that shot to right probably earns him another start tomorrow instead of Taveras. Only Torrealba's scuffed up knee may allow Iannetta into the lineup tomorrow. |

Hey, what's up with LaTroy? He's on the Phanton Injury Express, too?
When does O'Dowd start applying the same rules to HITTERS that suck? Isn't it about time for Willy Taveras to come down with a "thumb contusion?" |
