Point taken, although with pitchers like Penny, Webb, Schmidt, Johnson, Peavy and Lowe, just to name the prominant starters in our division, Helton has probably faced them about 35-50 times in his career, rather than 15.
My main point is that Helton's days off should not be mapped out ahead of time. If there is a 2 or 3 week stretch where we do not have days off, fine, go ahead and plan to have him rest for a day game. Otherwise, look at matchups, be it individual or lefty vs. righty, or how Helton is hitting at a particual time. |
