Drew, I heard a stat today on radio which is really the only stat you need to know regarding the playoffs.

The Yankees have made the playoffs 13 consecutive years in a row (redundancy intended)! Money talks. Poor owners cheat their fans and rarely make the playoffs.

This is the Rockies first playoff appearance in 12 years. Hmmmmmm...

Default Lather, rinse, repeat...

As usual, you conveniently ignore the role that player development and acquisition plays in the equation in favor of a worn out platitude about how "cheap" the Rockies ownership is.

The White Sox and Mets were both well North of $100,000,000 in payroll this year at roughly $108 million and $115 million respectively. How did that work out for them? The Dodgers spent $108 million on payroll and produced 82 wins. How about the SF Giants? They spent $90 million and finished with 71 wins.

You know, it's funny: I never hear you *****ing about how "cheap" the AZ D'Backs ownership is. They were outspent by the Rockies ($54 million to $52 million), by the way. Maybe it's because they're run by "smart" people and in the playoffs this year? Oh...that's right...so are the Rockies!
