Cards at Rox: 9th inning, Pujols doubles. Nothing much you can do to stop that. Fuentes gives up a grounder to second. Routine play, Pujols to 3rd, 2 outs, except ...

... Pujols keeps going, taking advantage of rookie Herrera taking his time on the play. Scores from 2B on a routine groundout. 6-5 Cards. Game over.

I can't say I've ever seen a game winning run scored that way.

I saw a go-ahead run on a questionable balk against the Giants last week lead to a win... It's been a mind-boggling month for the Rockies no doubt.

I didn't see the game, just the replay. Was Pujols running/stealing on the play?

Pujols still runs decently when he gets his momentum going, but he's not exactly Willy Taveras out there. It still amazes me that he could've scored on that play regardless of the circumstances.

Oh, and let me add a note regarding the uselessness of Yorvit ... he came in to pinch hit/strike out in the 8th, then stayed in to miss the tag/not even try to block Pujols in the 9th.

Yeah, Pujols was stealing third on the pitch. Hard to see coming.

Herrera did not pay him much attention on the groundout. But it's hard to say he made the wrong play.

I don't defend Yorvit often, but that K was the result of a bad call. Yes, he could have positioned himself better for the tag on Pujols, but he didn't do anything atrocious.

That's the thing with this team right now... of the 25 guys on the roster, roughly 23 deserve a serious share of the blame. I'd feel better if it were just one or two huge scaqpegoats. This sucks.

When it's that many people you can use as scapegoats then the problem is with the Manager and his coaches. Ultimately clint has to start sharing some of the blame.

We have a winner! Of course, I am very reasurred by the fact that Hurdle keeps telling us that they are a professional team and won't panic despite the slow start. Perhaps someone in the organization should be.
