Roxpert is Leaving Fanhome....

I have an announcement that I am sure JC (and maybe others) will celebrate. Effective tomorrow, there will be no more Roxpert postings on Fanhome. I am retiring the moniker, and taking a rather well-overdue break. Stocks are my career and passion, and battling the subtle but clear bigotry of one poster on this board was the catalyst for my decision.

Thanks, Heltonfan, for continuing and creating a fantastic analytical forum for Rockies and baseball fans, alike. I'll be lurking, and who knows......maybe one day I'll be reincarnated as a new poster when I get the yen (and when JC is outta here). Thanks again.

You know, come to think of it, I once did something similar. My mother had just disciplined me, so I packed a bag and made a big production as I stormed out of my house. All the while I was waiting for her to step in and beg me not to go. It didn't happen, though. I just sat in the yard for a while until I got cold and then went back inside. See, she knew that I didn't really have any intention of leaving; I was just being melodramatic and behaving like a petulant child.

The difference, Roxpert, is that I was 7 years old at the time.

I haven't yet read the particular comments in question, but I recently retired from the political wing of this forum.

Two reasons: A) This forum is wonderful and a blast when it comes to Rockies discussions. B) Political posts get nasty fast, and often each side is both so passionate that they feel they can't let the idiocy of the response go unchallenged (damn our egos). And this board isn't fun, or being used for it's intention, when 90% of your verbiage is political.

So, Roxpert. Just do what I did. I don't like every poster on the baseball side, but it's easier to rebutt/ignore/etc than the political stuff.

When you come back in a different incarnation we will all recognize you, so what's the point of leaving? Take a longer break if you want. We all understand that.
