Former Rockie, Joe Kennedy dies at age 28. Truly a sad day.

I was really sad to read this, and it makes one wonder why a healthy 28 year-old athlete would just drop dead suddenly. Brain aneurysms can happen at any age, I suppose.

Not trying to be funny, but isn't it strange how the name "Kennedy" and tragic death seems to go hand in hand? The name "Joe Kennedy", in fact, is one and the same with the name of the patriarch of the famous Kennedy clan. It's not relevant, I realize, but thought it was quite eerie.

If you didn't see Renck's write-up on Joe in the Post, go over to the website and take a look.

Kennedy rubbed some people the wrong way, but obviously Renck really liked the guy. Even though I never met him, so did I. He brought a little spirit to a really crappy club.
