Was Jiminez yanked? He had a one freaking hitter going. Please someone explain.
Okay, then why in God's name do you bring in Julio instead of your best reliever Fuentes??!?!?!?! OUR FU#&$*($& MANAGER IS A FU$&%(@ING MORON. The playoffs are on the line and he is trying to get cute. UGH!!H!!H!H!H! Big Time clutch start for Jiminez. He has been our best pitcher this year, and you have to let him work through trouble. He had, what, 11 Ks in 7 innings. Big time start for the young kid. Big time. |

What was the pitch count?
I may have yanked Ubaldo after the first walk, but then I wanted Herges, who I wouldn't have pitched last night, and not Julio who I no longer trust. Herges gets the 7th, Fuentes the 8th, and Corpas the 9th. Period. This is the 40 man expanded roster at work. It shows you what kind of manager you have. 1-1 in the 8th as I type, two men on, first and second, Fuentes laboring against the lefty Jeff Salazar. Two outs. Fuentes whiffs him! |

Tulo onboard. On the errant throw from 3B. Tony Clark woulda caught that one, but he's out of the game.
Second guessing is what makes baseball great. Come on MVP Matt Holliday! Yessssssssssssss! go to chat now! Last edited by Newman; 09-30-2007 at 05:41 PM. |

A nice win all the way around.
Todays game was a little like the season. Play a lot of the game even, get a lead and then give it away. Have a strong inning, and then excite the hell out of the fanbase. Personally, I've had a bunch of non-fans, who have done nothing but talk down the Rockies, that now want to engage me in conversations whereby they proclaim they knew all along that the Rockies would pull it out. I've been watching baseball for over 35 years, and I've never seen, nor heard of, any team doing what the Rockies did this year. The Yankees and Bucky F'n Dent come the closest, but the Rockies did it with NO PITCHING. And these people want to say that they knew the Rockies would pull it out... Why was Jimenez pulled? 2 straight walks. Yes the second one was a result of a blown call by the umpire, but it was time to pull him. Julio wasn't the right RP to put into the game though. I would've gone with Speier myself, but I guess there was a reason for putting Julio in. Starting Torrealba was the real injustice of the game. He's gassed and it shows. |

Agree X 3.
This season shows that you can go with two young phenoms, Jiminez and Morales, and succeed, rather than sign some old retreads like Wells or Kennedy. Yorvit is definitely gassed. Totally agree about Jorge Julio. I do not want to see him tonite. Young arms like Franklin's and Ubaldo's have come thru. Funny that people want to talk baseball now. The casual fans are coming out of the woodwork. That's ok. We can put up with them. Let them fill Coors Field and maybe we'll get to keep Holliday and Atkins. |
