Bradley Update

I'm sure that most of you have seen this. Milton Bradley is out for the year with a torn ACL. You just hope the Padres are going to meltdown mentally.

I think yesterday was the beginning of the end for this years Padres team. Its now time to set our eyes upon Philly and to a lesser extent, the D-Backs.

I have hope! Playoffs or Bust!!

That is just classic. His manager takes him down and rips up his knee.

It's not just a mental meltdown for the Padres -- I've never thought much of all that team spirit stuff (remember when the Cubs were "melting down" before our eyes, right before they went on a big winning streak?). This time they've been hit with injuries to key players:

-- Chris Young still hasn't shown he's 100%
-- Greg Maddux: I wouldn't count on him for his final start
-- Mike Cameron: hurt his hand earlier in the same game
-- Bradley: out for the year
-- Scott Hairston: has shoulder trouble, but missed a couple games this weekend with "the flu." I'm not buying it.
-- Trevor Hoffman: weirdly missing in action in Friday's 14-inning affair.

We've suffered through big injury problems the last couple months ... it may be someone else's turn now.
