This past week, the only true Division I college football champion was crowned, as the Mountaineers of Appalachian State University defeated the Delaware Blue Hens to garner an unprecedented three national titles in a row. Of course, we all believe that ASU might not be such a history-making powerhouse but for the failure of college football's major schools to participate in a championship playoff. Sadly, while the Mountaineers were winning the Championship, the big boys were all taking some downtime and preparing to play in meaningless exhibition games a few weeks hence.
One of those meaningless exhibition games actually has the brass to bill itself as a national championship game, but we all know better. We all know that Appalachian State University stands alone at the top and that the cowards who hide in their silly little bowls can hardly call themselves men, much less champions. |
