Rick Neuheisel made a dumb move, so did Mike Price and George O'Leary. His body of work however, is impressive. He deserves another chance. I wouldn't be surprised if a big-named school hired him - UCLA or Penn State. How many coaches on the market can say they lead a team to a Rose Bowl victory?

The reason that the UW had to abandon the case was because an Asst AD told him it was OK to gamble on college sports. Rick claims he didn't know it wasn't, of course he has a law degree but never read the NCAA coaches conduct code.

Since only 21 teams can even be in the Rose Bowl, that isn't that impressive an accomplishment.

Laying out the qualifications for his new coach, WSU athletic director Jim Sterk said he would prefer someone who knows the Northwest. He would favor someone who has played and coached in the Pac-10, and a man with head coaching experience might get the nod over an assistant coach/coordinator type. He must also value the student-athlete experience.

Get out the broom, it's a clean sweep for Slick Rick. He knows the area so well that his Huskies routinely won the Northwest Championship and would have the Cougs in contention for that crown every year.

He played at UCLA and coached at Washington. For all of the Huskies fans who can't stand him and think he's still at fault for current problems, would you take his record now? Neuheisel went 33-16 at Washington and was 33-14 at Colorado as the Buffaloes went 3-0 in bowl games, beating Pac-10 opponents each time.

As for the student-athlete experience, I've got proof of that, too -- he took his Rose Bowl team to the Playboy Mansion. If that's not valuing the student-athlete experience, I don't know what does.

Moore did mention on local radio (KJR-AM SEattle) that Rick does have serious issues in the integrity department.

Rumor now is that IF UCLA fires former Neuheisel asst. Bonnell (pends a loss tomorrow) that they will interview Slick.
